John Henry Nesom was born April 4, 1936, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Edna and Earl and died February 24th, 2011. A devoted husband, father, brother, and granddad, he always put God and family first. He attended OU and was a "walk-on" for Bud Wilkinson's
1954 Sooners football team, a small example of his can-do attitude and fighting spirit.
His amazing gift in making people laugh brought joy to all who knew him. In 1962 he went
to work in the sales department of Capitol Steel & Iron, and at his death, was President and Owner of the company. John was an eternal optimist and generous giver. When asked how he could be repaid for his generosity, he always said, "Pass it on". John was
a big part of Capitol Steel's success and his legacy will continue.
